Something I want to be better at in 2017 is taking care of my skin. I’ve always loved beauty but my focus has always been on makeup rather than skincare. I’ve always had quite good skin but towards the end of 2016 my skin became more troublesome (thanks to all those Christmas chocolates!) so I’m now on a mission to invest in a full-proof skincare regime!
So on Boxing Day I sat down at my laptop, popped on to Boots.com and decided to have a splurge, for my skins sake of course! (After a few months of living with me I think my boyfriend has now accepted if I ever receive a parcel, it’s 99% of the time going to be makeup – oops!)
So here’s a mini Boots skincare haul for you guys and I’ll be sure to review these products for you in an upcoming blog posts coming very soon here at Beauty Rant 🙂
No 7 Beautiful Skin Cleansing Brush
This is by far the product I was most excited about! I’ve been looking into getting an electronic cleansing brush for quite some time but didn’t want to spend a fortune on something that I’ve generally heard mixed reviews about. When I saw that Boots had an offer on which took this cleansing brush down from £24.95 to £15.00 I couldn’t resist the bargain so quickly snapped it up. It’s well known that these electric face brushes aren’t very good for dry and sensitive skin, which I sometimes have, but I thought I’d give it a shot anyway. I’ve only used this product once so far as I only received it yesterday but so far so good, I’ll definitely keep you guys updated with what difference this brush makes to my skin.
Clinique Liquid Facial Soap Mild
I’ve been meaning to purchase a full size version of this face wash for ages as I’ve finally ran out of the tiny tester version I’ve been using religiously! I don’t know what it is about this facial soap that makes my skin feel so good and so clean, but it definitely justifies the £16.50 price tag for me. Considering the small tester sample lasted me such a long time I doubt I’ll be needing to repurchase this for a long while which is also a bonus!
Clinique Take The Day Off Cleansing Balm
When it comes to taking my makeup off I’ve always found it such a challenge, nothing ever seemed to take my makeup off completely and my face always felt really dry afterwards. Ladies, let me introduce you to my holy grail makeup remover: Clinique Take The Day Off Cleansing Balm. This balm is AMAZING! Swirl your fingertips in the product a few times and rub the product into your skin in circular motions and it truly does melt the makeup away. Not only does it remove even my most stubborn mascara, it makes my skin so soft and hydrated afterwards. Taking my makeup off is no longer something I dread and for £22.00 I think this product is well worth the money. I’m so glad I finally have repurchased this product and no longer have to use the dreaded face wipes I had hidden away!
No 7 Beautiful Skin Hot Cloth Cleanser
I love face masks and giving my skin a real deep clean so have been looking for a hot cloth cleanser to try out. I’m a hot cloth cleanser virgin so really have no idea what to expect when I try this out but I’m looking forward to giving it a go! This product was £9.95 on Boots and comes with a cloth too which I wasn’t expecting as I bought some muslin cloths to go with it!
Maybelline Master Contour
Admittedly this isn’t a skincare item but I, of course, couldn’t resist grabbing a makeup product before checking out! I’ve really been getting into contouring lately and although I swear by my NYX taupe blush for powder contouring I want to try cream contouring and have heard some good things about this product. For £6.99 you get a cream highlight and cream contour in one applicator, I got the shade Light. I’m a bit concerned that the contour colour is a bit more warm toned that I usually go for but I’m up for working with it and seeing if this will give my face more definition.
I hope you guys enjoyed this Boots haul and let me know in the comments which products you’d like me to try out and review in a blog post!
