Bourjois Rouge Edition Velvet Lipstick Collection & Swatches

Before liquid lipsticks gained the ever-growing hype of the last 2 years, I loved normal stick lipstick formulas and especially loved the Rimmel by Kate Moss lipsticks. By chance, I purchased one of the Bourjois rouge edition velvet lipsticks and I don’t think I’ve fallen in love with a non-liquid lipstick since!

Bourjois’s liquid lipsticks have a gorgeous creamy texture and intense pigmentation, all these years later I’ve yet to find a liquid lipstick with a formula as good as these. I thought it would be fun to show you guys my collection of these lipsticks (as I have quite a few) and swatches so you can try them out for yourself as these definitely don’t get the hype they deserve.

Since I purchased these many moons ago, Bourjois have released quite a few more shades and finishes but all the shades I’m going to swatch below are still available for purchase on Superdrug and Boots.

From left to right the shades are:

  • 01 Personne Ne Rouge
  • 02 Frambourjoise
  • 03 Hot Pepper
  • 04 Peach Club
  • 09 Happy Nude Year
  • 11 So Hap’pink
  • 12 Beau Brun
  • 14 Plum Plum Girl

As the lipsticks actually have a cream formula they go on quite thick on the lips however this helps the colours be so intense as well as dry down to a stunning matte finish. The above swatches are just one swipe of the applicator and they are incredibly buildable.

These are by far my favourite liquid lipsticks and for £7.99 each these are a bargain! Let me know in the comments what your favourite liquid lipstick is so I can review it in a post very soon 🙂
