I’ve purchased quite a few beauty bits lately so it’s perfect timing that Day 22 of the 30 Days of Beauty Challenge is about my latest beauty purchases 🙂
I’ve heard mixed reviews on this foundation but as a lover of full coverage foundations I was dying to give it a shot! The new Total Cover foundation claims to be opaque enough to cover acne, scarring and tattoos. I used this foundation for the first time on Saturday and my first impression of this product isn’t a good one. It’s full coverage, but not to the extent of it’s claims and it clings to dry patches really bad which leaves your skin looking patchy and flaky. I’m going to continue to test out this foundation and do a dedicated review on this product for you guys to see if I can make this work, stay tuned!
I have to admit that this product was an impulse buy because of how heavily advertised this product has been on television and social media. I was surprised when purchasing this at how heavy it is! When you shake the product, as it suggests, the mechanism inside is extremely heavy which perhaps wouldn’t be convenient for people who keep their mascara in their bag on the go. I’ve used this a few times and I’m not amazed by it personally. It’s not a bad mascara, it just doesn’t give you the luscious lashes that the advertisements promise. Also, when I first used the product and put the wand back in for more product it splashed all over my face – not cute and it ruined my already nasty looking foundation from above!
Mavala Set Of 5 Nail Polishes
When I saw these nail varnishes in TK Maxx I had to pick them up, the colours are gorgeous! The five shades in this set are: 110 Trench Beige, 80 Pokhara, 279 Candy Apple, 278 Jelly Grape and 270 Firenze. I’ve never tried any of the Mavala nail polishes but have used their nail treatment in the past which is great for repairing your nails after wearing acrylic nails. I don’t know how much use I’m going to get out of the brown shade, Firenze, but the other four colours I think are perfect for spring and summer!
PS Nail Polish Holder
I cannot tell you how many times I’ve knocked over nail varnish or had to balance the bottle on my laptop in order to paint my nails, it’s a nuisance. I’m hoping that I’ve found my solution! I’ve yet to try this but I’m super excited to give it a shot; this product is a silicone ring that you can fit any size nail varnish bottle into so you can paint the other hand – genius. I’ll do a full review on this device because if this works for £1.50, you guys have to give it a shot!
Another TK Maxx purchase, this loose powder has been raved about in the online beauty community so I thought I’d give it a whirl. I’ve heard very fair people say that this powder is too dark to brighten up the under eyes but for my skin tone this is the perfect shade to brighten up the eyes and add the perfect finish to your base. I wish this came in pressed powder form because I hate loose powders with a vengeance!
If you’ve been reading my blog for a while you’ll know that I haven’t had much luck with primers. Regardless, I continue to try and find that perfect primer that is going to change my foundation application forever! Hard Candy is a new brand for me as I’m pretty sure you can’t get it in the UK usually so I was excited to pick up this illuminating primer, especially as it’s coming up to summer here and I want my skin to look glowing!
