Primark Mermaid Glow Highlighter

What comes to mind when you think of a blinding highlight? For me personally I think of big brand names such as Jeffree Star or Becca.

As a lover of drugstore makeup I love finding a blinding highlight on the high-street that is a fraction of the price of high end products. I’ve previously reviewed the Sleek Solstice highlighting palette which is a gorgeous highlighter quad for £9.99 which is a great price, but what if I told you I’ve found the perfect icy toned highlighter that is £3?!

Primark have recently added three blinding highlighter shades to their makeup collection for the tiny price of £3 a piece for 9g of product. My favourite of the three highlighters is the shade Mermaid Glow which is an extremely cool toned icy white with silver flecks. The two other shades available are Champagne and Rose Prosecco which I personally think are aimed for deeper skin tones as both shades are too golden for my fair skin.

The packaging feels very cheap and bulky which you would expect from such a low end product however you could easily depot the product and put it into a Z palette if you like to minimise the space products take up in your makeup collection.

The formulation of the Mermaid Glow highlighter is a little chalky but once applied to your face it melts into the skin and leaves a blinding monochrome glow that lasts all day without fading which is perfect for summer. I also love popping this product into the inner corner of my eye and on the lid for a dramatic eye.

This is an incredibly versatile highlighter that is perfect for fair skin so I highly recommend this product if you like glittery highlighters. This has been my most reached for highlight since I purchased it and for £3 why not give it a shot?!
