E.L.F. Aqua Beauty Molten Liquid Eyeshadow Review & Swatches

Today’s post is going to be my review on the new E.L.F Aqua Beauty Molten Liquid Eyeshadows that have just launched in Superdrug.

There isn’t a lot of choice on the market currently at the drugstore in the UK for liquid eyeshadows so when I spotted these amongst E.L.F.s products I had to snap them up!

Available in-store and online for £5.00 each, the Molten Liquid eyeshadows bizarrely only come in two shades which I think is a real shame as they could have expanded the range a lot further. As they are part of the Aqua Beauty range I was expecting a vibrant turquoise or fuchsia.

The two shades are (top to bottom) Brushed Copper and Rose Gold.

These eyeshadows are highly pigmented and definitely offer a large amount of metallic shine for your eye look. The applicator itself is similar to that of a lipgloss with a wand applicator which you can apply directly to your eyelid or on the back of your hand if you are using it on someone else.

Applying the eyeshadow to the eyelid is very easy and it glides on like a dream, unfortunately when you try to blend out the edges you begin to use a lot of the pigment and it turns into just pure glitter which I’ve had trouble with fall out as a result. If you are going to purchase this product I would definitely recommend doing your eye makeup before your foundation as the glitter in these shadows are so fine that it’s hard to brush the fall out away.

Once blended out these can give you a nice subtle shine on the lid or act as a base for powder eyeshadows.

Overall I am slightly disappointed with this product but for £5.00 I will continue to use them and try to find a way to increase the colour pay off, even if I have to keep my eyes shut whilst they dry rather than blending them out!

Have you tried these liquid eyeshadows? If so – what are your thoughts? 🙂

    1. I know! It’s a shame how limited products are over here. I recommend looking into the NYX lid lingeries, they’re much better than the ELF ones and the shade range is great 🙂
