L’Oreal Paris Pure Clay Detox Mask Review

Hey girlies! I’ve got an exciting review for you all today on the L’Oreal Paris Pure Clay Detox Mask that has received so much hype on the Internet over the past few months for the amazing effects it has on the skin after just one use.

I love face masks and would do them every day if I could so when I saw the hype over this product I had to go out and purchase it to review for you guys. The mask is currently on sale in both Superdrug and Boots but retails for £7.99 usually which is a very reasonable price for a face mask, especially if this lives up to my expectations. According to Superdrug, the claims for the product are as follows:

For the first time, the L’Oréal Paris laboratories have selected three pure clays and combined them with charcoal, which acts like a magnet to draw out impurities. The creamy texture detoxifies the skin’s surface by cleansing deep into the pores, leaving the skin looking clarified and beautified without drying it out.

3 pure clays + charcoal

A powerful blend of 3 pure clays

Kaolin – A highly effective natural clay, known to absorb impurities and excess sebum.
Montmorillonite – Rich in minerals, a clay recognised for helping to eliminate imperfections.
Ghassoul – A pure clay highly concentrated in minerals renowned to help clarify complexion.

Instant and lasting, visible results
Immediately: skin is purer and clearer.
Use for one week: skin feels fresher, and more luminous.
Use after use: skin can breathe and is visibly transformed.

I’ve been using this product for months to make sure that my review is full proof and I am now just running out so what better time to tell you guys my thoughts.

I’m not a fan of applying face masks with my hands as it gets under my nails and is just generally gross so my favourite method of application is The Body Shop Facial Mask Brush. For £8 this brush is a little gem and is brilliant at applying face masks evenly.

The face mask is a thick consistency but glides beautifully onto dry skin and is very opaque in colour which is satisfying. The scent is very strong and almost medicinal with a hint of licorice, not my favourite but as it contains natural clay this is to be expected.

Once you have finished applying the face mask your skin feel very fresh and tingly which I personally enjoy in a face mask. You leave the face mask on for 5-10 minutes (or until completely dry, it’s usually around the 15 minute mark when I’ve used it) then wash off with a wet towel. I personally like to try to wash it off with warm water first in circular motions for extra exfoliation then use a wet towel to remove what little product is left.

After using this product for several months, I can confirm that it is now my favourite face mask!

This product is great at detoxing your face and drawing out any blemishes under the surface of your skin, especially them extremely painful under the skin spots. Not only does it detox your face but I have definitely noticed a difference in my skin texture and redness. I’ve never had softer, cleaner feeling skin and I’m definitely heading down to Superdrug to repurchase this very soon!
