L’Oreal Infallible Eye Paints: Review & Swatches

During my recent trip to Boots that I hauled here I mentioned that I had purchased two of the L’Oreal Infallible Eye Paints so today I am going to show you swatches as well as give you all my final review of whether these liquid eyeshadows are worth your money or not!

The L’Oreal eye paints retail for £5.99 each and are the perfect size to throw in your handbag or makeup bag, no need to carry around bulky eyeshadow palettes whilst travelling. According to the L’Oreal website, these liquid shadows have 5 different uses:

  1. Use as a base for powder eyeshadows
  2. Layer for a smokey eye
  3. Create bold looks by applying all over the lid
  4. Use the tip of the applicator to apply as liquid liner
  5. Use to colour your lashes

I purchased the shades 205 Cocky Bisque and 307 Sunset Goals.

For the drugstore I think these shades are really unique! It’s rare you can find such a vibrant orange and liquid metallics are generally a flop, see my review on the E.L.F. Molten Liquid Eyeshadows for more info on that…

My first impression of these liquid eyeshadows is how extremely pigmented they are. The above swatches were with just one swipe! They apply extremely smoothly to the skin and feel quite cooling rather than sticky and thick.

The applicator is very flat and a great shape to apply the product all over the lid, I’m not sure how well it would work for liner as it’s very thick so I recommend using a liner brush and taking the product off the applicator if you’re looking for a more precise line.

Once applied to the lid the product dries down very quick so if you want to blend out the edges I’d work on one eye at a time and blend immediately otherwise you will end up with harsh lines that won’t budge. This is definitely a product where an eye base or primer is necessary as the eyeshadow sinks into the lines on your eyes and can look very dry. I like using a very thin and sheer cream eyeshadow as a base when I use these!

I created a simple sunset look with these two shades which I think came out pretty well 🙂

These eyeshadows are so pigmented and last all day long with minimal crumbling and fading. I’m super impressed at how well these last and how smudge-proof they are for the price tag.

Whilst this product does have a few quirks I definitely recommend the L’Oreal Infallible Eye Paints if you are looking for a cheap alternative to high end liquid eyeshadows. They have a great shade range and they do a great job for £5.99.
