Going Back To Basics: Skincare

Brands are coming out with luxury skincare left, right and centre which can make finding a good skincare routine that suits your individual skin even more challenging. As the seasons have changed and my skin has changed too, my holy grail skincare products just don’t cut it anymore.

With hair it is recommended that you switch up your shampoo and conditioner every so often, and skincare should be no different in my opinion.

I have been using The Body Shop Glow Boosting Moisturiser for as long as I can remember. It is my all time favourite and nothing can beat it but lately I’ve found it’s started to make me very greasy and breakout. Alongside this moisturiser I also use cleansers, exfoliating washes, serums, eye creams and toners – that’s a lot to put on one face!

I’ve decided to let my skin breathe and go back to basics.

I used to use the Simple Light Moisturiser years ago but reverted to something more heavy duty when my skin type was more on the dry side. If you’re looking for drastic results, heavenly scents and a miracle cream – this isn’t for you. If you want to keep your skin hydrated, protected from the sun and feeling like skin then this cream is it. It’s a few pounds and a tiny amount of product goes a long way, I love using this under foundation as well as it’s not thick and doesn’t weigh my skin down.

My current skincare routine is now completely back to basics; washing my face morning and night with the Clinique Facial Soap and moisturising with the Simple Light Moisturiser. My skin is beginning to look less greasy and I definitely feel like I’m restoring my natural skin.
