Today’s post is going to my review on the very hyped up new mascara from L’Oreal, the new L’Oreal Paris Paradise mascara!
First of all I’ve never tried to Too Faced Better Than Sex mascara so I can’t comment on whether the Paradise mascara is a dupe for the Too Faced mascara but I can definitely see why people are saying they are similar, especially in terms of the packaging.
Like many other beauty lovers it was the packaging that first intrigued me about this product but then when I had seen other beauty influencers rave about how amazing this formula is, I had to buy it!
When it comes to mascara I usually prefer mascaras with a plastic wand rather than bristles as I find that coating every single lash is easier with a plastic applicator however the brush on this mascara is packed full of bristles in a curved shape that hugs the unique shape of your eye.
Although it isn’t a strong scent, it definitely has that ‘cheap makeup’ smell that you get with makeup from Claire’s or a pound shop however it isn’t an overwhelming scent so I wouldn’t let this influence whether or not you want to test out this product.
Applying the Paradise mascara is extremely easy, just like any other mascara; the wand is saturated with product which helps ensure you get an even coat across all your lashes without getting clumps. I would definitely say for me this is not a buildable formula. Even with two layers I found this mascara left my lashes looking clumpy and a bit spidery however one coat is more than enough due to the amazing volume and length it gives upon initial application.
Here is a side by side comparison of the lashes with the L’Oreal Paradise mascara and with no mascara (I have very fair eyelashes!).
Whilst this product hasn’t replaced the Maybelline Lash Sesnational as my favourite mascara, this is definitely a close second and I’ve been wearing it non-stop since I got it. This is the perfect everyday mascara that gives you gorgeous length without too much dramatic volume!
Have you tried the L’Oreal Paris Paradise Mascara? 🙂
