I hope you’re all doing great and January is treating you well!
Personally, January has kicked me up the butt so far but I’m determined to make 2018 a year of positivity. I’m already loving getting back into blogging and wearing makeup every day to experiment with different colours as I stuck with pink and orange shades last year.
Today’s post is going to be a haul of products from KIKO and The Body Shop that I purchased in the January sales. I wanted to get this post up a lot sooner but it took so long for these things to be delivered that I’ve only just had the chance to sit down and start playing with them.
The Body Shop
Throughout Christmas and New Year, The Body Shop had a 50% sale across certain lines of products so obviously I had to snap up some goodies! If you’ve been following me for a while you’ll notice that I feature products from this brand frequently, purely because I love the quality of their products and I think the price point is great for how great the products are!
The first product of my haul is The Body Shop Fuji Green Tea Cleansing Hair Scrub. The Fuji green tea range is my favourite and I’ve had my eye on this for a while so I thought why not! This hair scrub feels very similar to their body scrubs but with more exfoliating properties to remove any dry skin and product build-up from your scalp. I’ve used this product once so far and it’s very strange; it’s meant to replace your shampoo but being someone that has long hair I don’t know how I’ll get on with this cleaning the entirety of my hair!
I know it’s a bit of a makeup faux pas, but for the past few months I’ve been contouring with bronzer…I know, don’t shoot me. I was enjoying more of a natural contour and had fallen out of love with the taupe blush by NYX that I love to contour with, until I saw this. The Body Shop Face Contouring Palette includes four shades: contour, bronzer, highlight and blush – even better it’s still on sale for £10 down from £15! These shades are perfect for my skin tone and although on first glance the highlighter doesn’t look overly special, it looks gorgeous on the skin as a perfect natural highlight with 0 glitter.
Lastly from The Body Shop is their Eyeshadow Packing Brush. It actually says it’s a blending brush on the packaging but this isn’t the sort of brush I’d use for blending. This was down from £9 to £3 in the sale so I couldn’t resist, even better this brush is amazing and has become one of favourites.
I’ve never heard any other UK beauty bloggers talk about KIKO and it continues to amaze me. KIKO has the best quality makeup but for very affordable prices. Out of all the products I purchased in the sales, these are the products I have been most excited to share with you because they’re all so good!
How beautiful are these shades?! Every time I go in store I always see the KIKO Smart Cult Eyeshadow Palette and fall in love all over again, so I thought I’d treat myself and I’m so happy I did. These all matte shades are extremely pigmented and I love how tightly packed the pans are in the palette, I can’t explain it but it looks like denim! This is the perfect palette if you’re looking to step out of your comfort zone and try something new.
I got a bit carried away buying eyeshadows not realising that these shades are very similar to two shades in the Smart Cult palette, but they’re still gorgeous. KIKO have some of the best eyeshadows on the market currently so I’m excited to add these to my collection.
You guys – if you’re looking for a vibrant coloured eyeliner that is going to pop in your waterline and stay in place all day, you need to get these eyeliners. Currently on sale for £2.20, these are the most pigmented and creamy liners I’ve ever purchased. These liners are in the Colour Kajal range and great quality, I need to get all the shades now!
I can admit, I really didn’t need another setting powder, but have you seen this packaging? How could I say no. This is a radiant setting powder than sets your makeup as well adding a slight luminuous glow to your skin. I’ve been slowly falling out of love with my Rimmel Stay Matte powder so have been looking for a better alternative, and I think I’ve found it! This keeps me matte all day and makes my skin looks flawless without clinging on to any dry patches.
The last KIKO product I purchased is this gorgeous Glow Fusion Powder Highlighter! It looks a lot more icy white in the pan but it’s actually a gorgeous champagne colour that melts into the skin beautifully.
