Whilst it has been a good one, I have to say that I don’t remember a January ever feeling this long in my entire life. It can’t just be me? I feel like January lasted for 3 months! Where is spring?!
Despite January being a slightly stressful and snowy month, I have some fab products that I’ve discovered throughout the month that I’d love to share with you all because they’ve all found their way into my beauty-loving heart and everyone loves a good favourites post!
I’m very hit or miss with shampoos. My hair very quickly gets used to products so they stop working so well, but this shampoo is different. If I’m honest I just picked this up in Sainsbury’s because I liked the packaging, and I like cucumber and green tea scents (go figure).
I’m blown away by how amazing this shampoo is. My hair gets oily very quickly so I usually avoid any products that promise increased shine but I’ve definitely noticed since using this shampoo my hair has been getting less greasy and it feels so squeaky clean after being washed! The smell is divine and it creates a lovely luxurious lather that makes me feel like I’m at the salon. Retailing for £3-6, this is a little gem and I will definitely be repurchasing once I run out.
For Christmas I bought my sister this Ciaté London Mini Mani Month advent calendar in my local TkMaxx as it looked good, little did I know that it was actually a gorgeous set of stunning colours and I was left wishing I’d purchased it for myself!
My lovely sister actually then went on to buy me one in the sales and I just love all the colours, they’re very me with deep purples and rich blues in the mix. The quality of these nail polishes is phenomenal; they last for days without any chipping and give off such a shine it looks like you got them done professionally. You can still get this advent calendar on Amazon here if you’re interested – I definitely recommend!
I was lucky enough to win the Guerlain Mon Guerlain Eau de Parfum Spray on Twitter at the start of the month and I just can’t stop wearing it! It’s a gorgeous scent that isn’t quite floral but has citrus tones that are perfect for this time of year as we’re going into spring.
I usually wear the YSL Black Opium perfume as it’s my all-time favourite scent but the tones of that are more autumnal, so the Guerlain perfume is much more seasonally appropriate now!
I was debating whether or not to include this product in my favourites as unfortunately, it’s no longer available, online at least, as it was part of a Christmas collection, however, it is so good I have to give it a shout out.
As part of a gift set I got gifted this Christmas was the Tanya Burr Sweet Cheeks Face Palette. I’ve not experimented much with Tanya Burr makeup before but I’m definitely interested in trying more out now! You guys, this face palette is a game changer. All three shades are so creamy and pigmented, I’m obsessed with the highlighter (as you can tell!) and the bronzer is the perfect tone for my skin.
Whilst the Sweet Cheeks palette is no longer available, she does have another palette that is in her permanent makeup line called the Peach Glow palette which looks just as beautiful which you buy for £8 here.
KIKO Colour Kajal in 110 Turquoise
I recently hauled a lot of KIKO makeup that I purchased in the January sales and I mentioned how stunning the eyeliners are…here is the shade 110 Turquoise in action.
These are so creamy and beautifully pigmented! I can apply this pencil on my waterline at 6am and get home from work at 5pm with it still looking perfect, no kidding. I have a blue eyeshadow look on the way very soon using this eyeliner and another KIKO product, so make sure you’re following to get notified when that goes up!
