MUA Prism Loose Powder Highlighter Review

Today’s post is going to be all about an exciting new release from MUA!

It’s been a while since I’ve been drawn into MUA products; despite the brand being incredibly affordable and having a good reputation, nothing ever really calls to me – until now.

In my local Superdrug I was shocked to see that Makeup Academy have released the MUA Prism Loose Powder Highlighter! This isn’t something that you see very often in the drugstore so I had to snap one up.

The MUA Prism Loose Highlighters come in three shades: Star Illusion, Oceanic Wonder and Emerald Marvel. I picked up Star Illusion as it is the most wearable shade for me personally. Star Illusion is a champagne pink tone, Oceanic Wonder is a reflective blue tone and Emerald Marvel is a green shade.

The product comes in plastic packaging with a sifter which unfortunately I find extremely messy and wasteful so I took that off!

At first I wasn’t too impressed as it looks like a translucent baking powder with no glow at all, as you can see from the above photo!

The powder is extremely finely milled and a lot picks up on your brush. My favourite highlighter brush is the Morphe M501 Pointed Blender Brush which you purchase on Beauty Bay 🙂

Despite not looking pigmented in the pan, oh my does this highlighter pack a punch! With a small amount of product on your brush you can get a gorgeous subtle glow or built it up for a more impactful glow!

For £5 I highly recommend you give this a try 🙂
