In my previous post I mentioned that my boyfriend and I were heading off on holiday for our 2 year anniversary, which was the relaxation we both needed, but all that sunshine frazzled my lips and left them sore and dry.
I seem to be constantly buying lip balms and never truly being ‘wowed’. I always go back to my Burts Bees lip balms, however, they are great for maintaining soft lips rather than resolving extremely dry lips.
During a recent pay day shopping trip I popped into Holland and Barrett out of curiousity and stumbled across the Dr Organic Royal Jelly Lip Serum.
It is currently on sale in-store and online for £2.49 down from £4.99, which is very reasonable for a lip balm – especially if it works!
The Dr Organic Royal Jelly Lip Serum promises to ‘moisturise the lips with a complex proprietary blend of bioactive, natural and organic ingredients including organic Royal Jelly and Propolis.’
I think we should all consciously aim to use skincare that is good for our skin and doesn’t contain alcohol, which is why this lip balm appealed to me as it only contains good natural ingredients.
- Organic royal helly
- Panax ginseng root
- Lemon peel oil
- Mango butter
- Shea butter
- African coffee tree oil
- Olus oil
- Canelilla wax
Mango butter is well known for keeping skin naturally plump as well as its’ moisturising properties, so the combination of all the above ingredients sound like a perfect cocktail! I can tell that the main ingredient is the mango butter as it is veryheavily scented but it does dissipate after a few minutes.
As it is a serum, it is a slick liquid, so a tiny amount of product goes a long way. Serums are naturally far more concentrated than creams or balms, and this lip serum definitely packs a punch. My lips are considerably a lot softer than before using this product and it feels very luxurious to use. I personally use it at night before bed as it is slightly slick and I wouldn’t want to disturb my makeup during the day in case the lip serum bleeds into my foundation.
For £2.49, or the full price of £4.99, I will definitely be purchasing this lip balm again. It’s a really luxurious feeling product which does exactly what it claims.
Have you tried any products from the Dr Organic Bioactive Skincare range? 🙂
