Karl Lagerfeld + Model Co Glossybox Review

I’ve got a confession…

I’ve never tried a beauty subscription box before. Ever.

I know, I know. It’s hardly groundbreaking news but as I love makeup so much, you’d think I would’ve jumped on this bandwagon a long time ago. The main reason why I am reluctant to sign up for a year long subscription to these boxes is that I know so many of them are inconsistant and I’m honestly only interested in makeup most of the time, not hair and health bits.

Last week I saw a great deal on Glossybox where they were selling two limited edition boxes for £30, when they are usually £30 each! Needless to say, I jumped at this deal as the value of the boxes is far much more than the £30 price tag.

So today I am going to show you what was included in the Karl Lagerfeld + Model Co beauty box 🙂

Model Co Baked Blush – Rose Pink (Full size – £31.00 value)

The first product is a gorgeous shimmery blush in the shade Rose Pink. I’m not a big blush person, it seems defeatist to put foundation on to cover redness just to add more, but this shade is truly stunning! It’s so shimmery I would personally consider it as more of a blush topper to blend into your blush and highlight.

Bear in mind these two boxes came to a total of £30, and the blush alone retails for £31! 🙂

Model Co Lip Gloss – Ramatuelle (Deluxe Mini, Full Size is £22.00 value)

On to the next product, it is a lip gloss in a mauve/taupe shade. I do like more glossy lips in summer so this is very fitting. As you can see from the picture, it is extremely pigmented and whilst I prefer wearing lip gloss over a lipstick this is perfectly pigmented on its own.

Model Co Blush Brush (Full Size – £22.00 value)

A nice addition to the box is this Model Co blush brush. I personally don’t use angled brushes for blush but I will definitely get use out of this for bronzer as it is incredibly soft and I can imagine this will blend product in seamlessly.

Model Co Lip Couture Lipstick – Red (Deluxe Mini, Full Size is £20.00 value)

I love a red lip in autumn so I was super excited to see that a red lipstick was included in this box! It is a standard bullet lipstick so if you’re a liquid lipstick gal this might not be your fave. From swatching it is very creamy and pigmented enough that you can build it up to the intensity you like. I would definitely recommend using a lip liner with this product, as I would with any other red or dark lip.

Model Co Lip Liner – Red (Full Size – £21.00 value)

Tada! This box does in fact include a lip liner to use with this product. I love that they included this to make it wearable for everyone, including people who do not have the fullest lips. What I do find interesting is that this lip liner is definitely a different shade of red than the lipstick, I’m not sure if you can tell by the swatches but the lip liner is definitely a deeper more blue toned red whilst the lipstick has warmer hues. I don’t mind this as I do like a darker lip outline to make my lips look fuller!

Model Co Long-Lasting Liquid Liner (Full Size – £21.00 value)

Last but not least is the Model Co Long-Lasting Liquid Liner which I was surprised to see in this box! It’s not often that these sort of subscription boxes include a liner, especially not a full size. It is a felt tip liquid liner with an angled tip that allows you to create thin and thick lines which you can see in the swatch below 🙂

Do I think this box is worth the price tag?

Definitely! Whilst not all the products were full size, the total value of all the full size products comes to £95 – must less than the £15 I paid for this box.

I’m 100% going to be looking into future Glossy Boxes and I recommend you guys do too! 🙂

Make sure you’re following my blog for my thoughts on the second Glossy Box I purchased. Spoiler: It’s 100% vegan and packed full of goodies!
