The countdown to Christmas is on and I’m feeling festive! Today I’m doing The Christmas Tag 🙂
I have to admit, I’m not a massive Christmas movie lover – but I do have a select few that I enjoy! My favourite Christmas movie is Christmas With The Kranks, followed by How The Grinch Stole Christmas and Jingle All The Way. How weird that all the films I like to watch during the festive season are about people hating Christmas!
My family and I have always opened presents on Christmas morning so I can’t imagine ever doing otherwise! We have in recent years had a Christmas Eve box where we may give eachother a little present on Christmas Eve but for me, presents are strictly for Christmas day only!
I don’t have one specific memory in mind but Christmas is always the best time of the year! I love everything about Christmas, the run up and the big day!
I am definitely a Pringle queen at Christmas! I’m not a fan of the traditional festive foods such as mince pies and Christmas pudding, I prefer all the little savoury snacks although last year I’m pretty sure we had salted caramel tarts (basically mince pies but instead of mince meat, salted caramel) and they were amazing!
I can’t think of one specific present that has been better than all the rest. I’ve been very lucky to have an amazing family and lovely boyfriend who spoil me rotten at Christmas and are very good at getting me presents that I love!
I mentioned in my Autumn Tag that I don’t like traditional festive scents such as cinnamon (eww), and instead favour baking scents or gingerbread that make your house smell like you’d like it to smell at Christmas. If you don’t have time to do some Christmas baking for that delicious sweet smell, you can always fake it with a candle!
On Christmas Eve we open our Christmas Eve box, go carol singing and do a little buffet at my parents! We used to do baking but with us all working now, there’s not enough hours in the day.
I personally prefer a star at the top of my Christmas tree! I’m not opposed to trying something different next year but it’ll have to look gorgeous for me to be change up my tree.
I always asked for the most stupid stuff for Christmas as a child! All the kids toy adverts on Nickelodeon of chocolate coin makers and other gimmicky products looked amazing to me – surprisingly I never received these overpriced pieces of plastic! One present I always wanted was a Sylvanian Families set, they always looked so cute.
Without sounding super cheesy and sappy, I love just having time off work to rest after a busy year and spend time with my loved ones! As an adult it’s hard to have quality time when everyone is knackered from working full time and adulting, Christmas is the one time of the year where everyone can come together, eat some good food and have a great time!
