After being out of the makeup scene for a while, I recently got inspired to do some shopping on Superdrug and treat myself to some new products to play with.
Sometimes it takes some new makeup to inspire new looks, and I’m very excited to try out what I picked up!
One thing that I didn’t buy which I’m in the market for is a new foundation – what’s good nowadays? I love the L’Oréal Pro Glow but the lightest shade is too light/pink toned for me without mixing it with something else and all other drug store foundations are so orange… help! Please leave your recommendations below 🙂
Revolution Eye Glistens (Yours Truly & It’s Fate)
The product I’m most excited to try out are these Eye Glistens by Revolution. They’re dual-ended liquid eyeshadows that have a metallic shade on one side and a glitter topper on the other…I cannot tell you how gorgeous these look when swatched! Stay tuned for a stand-alone post on these, I have high hopes and the shades are gorgeous 🙂
Maybelline Tattoo Brow Waterproof Gel (Medium Brown)
I love brow pomades but no matter what I do they always seem to dry out, which isn’t great for a product that generally isn’t the cheapest, so I thought I’d give this a try. The Maybelline Tattoo Brow Waterproof Gel is a very pigmented eyebrow gel that you’re meant to apply with the spoolie included, but I’m going to use with an angled brow brush to fill in and define as I would a pomade. I grabbed the shade ’04 medium brown’ which looks a little cool-toned for how warm my hair is…watch this space.
Maybelline Face Studio Chrome Extreme Highlighter (Rose Gold)
I 100% did not need another highlighter, but rose gold + sparkly things? Sign me up! This Maybelline Face Studio Chrome Extreme Highlighter looks amazing and the shade is really unique. It looks like it may be a little too dark for my complexion, however, I can probably make it work with a light hand or even just as an eyeshadow.
NYX Honey Dew Me Up Primer
Generally, I don’t believe makeup primers do anything; I’ve never experienced a primer that has made my foundation look any better or last longer. Despite this, I’ve heard great things about this primer not necessarily for increasing longevity of makeup but for prepping and hydrating the skin before makeup application.
NYX Can’t Stop Won’t Stop Concealer
A bit of an impulse buy as I have 101 concealers in my collection, this NYX concealer found itself in my basket because I’ve found that all my usual faves just aren’t working for me anymore. Does anyone else find that? So annoying!
NYX Dewy Finish Long Lasting Setting Spray
I love matte foundations, but not how dry it can make my skin look (I have combination skin). I’ve heard mixed reviews about this dewy setting spray by NYX but thought I’d give it a go as it used to be a cult classic back in the day!
That’s all the makeup bits I picked up at Superdrug recently! Leave your comments below 🙂
